Axel Schulz (born November 9, 1968 in Bad Zarov) is a German professional boxer, world and European champion.
Early life
From 1982 Schulz, the boxes in Frankfurt for advanced clubs in the Army and then won the GDR youth champion. In the 1986 European Junior Championship in Denmark, Schulz won heavy heavyweight gold and won the GDR heavyweight champion in 1988 under the leadership of Manfred Wolke. In 1989 he won the Hull tournament and then a silver medal at the European Championship in Athens and a bronze medal at the World Championship in Moscow, lost to Felix Savona in the final.
Career
Schultz made his professional ring in 1990. In his 14th fight, he won a German title. On December 19, 1992, he won the EBU Championship title with Nigeria Henry who was invincible. A repeat match lasted six months later, where Schultz suffered his first defeat. After defeat, Schultz spent 5 wins and defeated former world champion, America James Smith.
After this fight, Axel entered the IBF championship battle with the legendary George Foreman. In the fight, Foreman was awarded a decision by the majority of judges. The decision was quite controversial and IBF ordered a rematch. The foreman decreased and IBF seized the title.
In December 1995 there was a fight for an empty IBF degree between the invincible Axel Schulz and South Africa François. Botha won on points, but then stripped of the title for a positive steroid test. Schultz fights again for an empty IBF title. This time with the former Champion Michael Moorer. In a difficult and competitive battle with a little profit, a mine was won by a separate decision by the judges. Schultz suffered his third loss.
In August 1997, Schultz beat Ireland Kevin McBride. In February 1998, he defeated Julius Francis in Ebu Eliminator’s fight. However, Axel Schulz gathered and went to a decent title fight for the EBU European Championship title. On September 25, 1999 Schulz competed for an empty EBU title against the Vladimir Klitschko Olympic champion. Klitschko dominated the battle and began beating Germany unilaterally in the round of 8. The referee stopped the fight. This is the first initial defeat in Axel Schulz’s career. After this fight, Schultz left boxing.
After 7 years, he returned to the ring and spent the fight against Brian Minto, who was also gone. In the fourth round, Minto sent Axel on board, and in the five round, he hit him hard and slapped his waist, who was warned by America.
